This Indenture made between William McIntosh of the East River District of Pictou and County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia Joiner, and Alexander McKay of the Middle River Township of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia aforesaid Farmer, Witnesseth That the said William MacIntosh in consideration of the sum of One Hundred and Twenty Pounds of lawful money of the Province aforesaid paid him by said Alexander McKay the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, Hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell to said Alexander MacKay his heirs and assigns all that certain lot of land situate lying and being on the east side of the Middle River of Pictou bounded as follows viz: Beginning on the east bank of the said Middle River at the original boundary of farm lot between one Alexander Fraser Forks/ so called, on the north side thence down stream the several courses of the river sixty rods or to a hemlock stump marked for the south boundary of land deeded to one Donald Henderson, thence east two hundred and ninety five rods, thence south sixty rods or to lands granted to one Christopher McDonald, thence west along Christopher McDonalds and Alexander Frasers north boundary to the place of beginning two hundred and ninety rods, containing in the whole one hundred acres be the same more or less To Have and To Hold the same together within all the houses, out houses, buildings, tenements, and hereditaments to the same belonging to hold the same to Alexander McKay his heirs and assigns, to his and their use forever hereby warranted and defended against the claim of all persons whomsoever. In witness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto put their hand and set their seals this twenty ninth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one.
