Samuel Burridge (Burbage) Little
Samuel was born June 1851, Pictou, to John and Rachel Little. His father John was born about 1810, Dumfries, Scotland and emigrated to NS before 1845. His mother Rachel was born in Nova Scotia, of Irish descent.
Samuel married Charlotte Dobson on 29th of August 1878. Charlotte was the daughter of James and Phoebe Priest Dobson, Caribou.
As a youth, Samuel worked at sea. After his marriage to Charlotte he was employed at the marine railway and served as a member of the Pictou roundhouse crew for 16 years.
Samuel and Charlottes children were: Rachel, James, Mary, George Henry, John Harold and Phoebe.
Samuel was active in the community of Pictou including acting as chief of the Pictou Fire Departmet for a number of years.
Samuel died at the age of 84 on the 28th of March 1936. His obituary stated he was one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of Pictou.
