“Know all men by these presents that I William McDonald of the Middle River of Pictou in the County of Pictou Province of Nova Scotia farmer am held and firmly bound to Duncan McDonald of the same place farmer in the penal sum of twelve hundred dollars lawful money of the Dominion of Canada to be paid to the said Duncan McDonald or his certain attorney his executors, administrators or assigns. For which payment to be well and truly made I bind myself my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns firmly by these presents signed and sealed with my hand and seal, dated this eleventh day of April one thousand eight hundred and seventy six.
Whereas the above named William McDonald having received a deed of eighty farm acres of land bearing even date with this bond from the said Duncan McDonald for which the said William McDonald promised to pay the sum of six hundred dollars.
Now the condition of this obligation is such that if the above bounded William McDonald shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Duncan McDonald, his Executors, administrators or assigns the full and just sum of six hundred dollars of lawful money as aforesaid within five years from the date hereof with the interest to grow due thereon from the day of the date hereof at the rate of six per cent per annum until payment of the whole principle and interest money be made without [fraied?] or further delay then this obligation to be void otherwise to continue of five [years?] and [vartere?]
