Description
Luella Irene Crockett was born 24 January 1890 at White Hill, Pictou County, NS.
Her parents were James William Crockett and Katherine Jane Crockett. Luellas mother Kate was the daughter of Joseph Crockett and Margaret McLean. Margaret McLean was the daughter of Hector McLean and Isabel McIntosh. Hector McLean was born c 1750 in Glen Moriston and Glen Urquhart, Invernesshire, Scotland and fought in the Amercian Revolutionary War.
Luella taught in New Foundland and served as a missionary in China. In South China she worked at the Kong Moon Mission. She also went to North China where she was held in a Japanese interment camp for four years.
Luella Irene Crockett died 19 March 1950, at the age of 60, in New Glasgow.
