Description
James B. Barry (1818-1905) was the son of a Scottish immigrant (James Barry Sr.) who settled in Six Mile Brook. James' father ran a mill where James worked for several years. He built his own printing press and was one of Pictou County's early printers. While he was known for his drawings, he was also a renowned fiddle player. Barry composed and collected tunes from all over Northern Nova Scotia, and often entertained his friends and neighbours with his music.
