Lewis was a son of Arthur Ives and Ocenia Fraser. He married Jenny M Eastwood. He is a grandson of William Ives (1808-1880).

This elm tree was planted by French Monks at the same time as they built the church. The tree is still very much alive aster 1000 years as opposed to the church which was mostly destroyed by fire during the reformation.
