In addition to being spouses, Louisa Reid Ives (1889-1992) and Leonard Bowman Robertson (1890-1972) are 2^nd cousins by the fact that Louisa’s maternal grandmother - Annie Robertson (1818-1909) and Leonard’s paternal grandfather – James Robertson (1823-1894) are sister and brother. Their parents are William Robertson (1769-1848) and Christina MacKenzie (1780-1832).

Louisa and Leonard are also 4^th cousins because Louisa’s GG grand father is Roderick MacKay (1746-1829) and Leonard’s GG grandmother is Margaret MacKay ( 1732-1825) who are brother and sister.
