Will of John Cumming, deceased
Certified Copy for the Registrar of Deeds
I John Cumming of Westville in Pictou County Province of Nova Scotia being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and Testament I have not made any former wills or other Testamentary dispositions
I direct all my just debts funeral and Testamentary expenses to be paid and Satisfied by my executors hereinafter named as soon as conveniently may be after my decease.
I give devise and bequeath to my son John D my Masonic gold ring
I give devise and bequeath to my son James W my gold watch and a parcel of Cloth from Eureka Mills sufficient to make a suit of clothes
I give devise and bequeath to my son Charles Dunn my silver watch
I give devise and bequeath to daughter Lena the sum of ten dollars in money
All the rest and residue of my estate real and personal and all my effects not hereinbefore disposed of I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Isabella Cumming for her use and benefit so long as she shall remain unmarried and my widow. In the case of her future marriage the property shall as soon as convenient thereupon be sold and one third the net proceeds shall be paid to her and the remaining two thirds to my present children in equal parts or share and share alike, and in the case of her remaining unmarried the property shall on her decease be sold in like manner and all the net proceeds distributed among my children to share and share alike
and I hereby nominate constitute and appoint Roderick MacDougald and Alexander Robertson both of the Town of Westville in the County of Pictou Nova Scotia **** Town Councillors to be the Executors of this my last will and Testament
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this twenty seventh day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and three
