Will of Daniel McLeod, deceased

Certified Copy of Will for Reg of Deeds Pictou

I Daniel McLeod of West River in the County of Pictou NS, Farmer, being of sound mind will bequeath and devise

1 To my wife Nancy McLeod the one third of my real estate & personal property to be at her disposal during her lifetime & at her death to belong to my son Isaac E. McLeod.

2 To my daughter or daughters remaining unmarried at my death I give that lot of land containing the orchard and fronting on the highway, bounded on the north east by the lot of land now occupied by Alex Creighton, on the south west by a *** stream traveling at the west corner by the Old Post Road & from thence running in a line parallel with the highway to the lot of said Alex Creighton containing five acres more or less.

In the event of death or marriage of an of said daughters, their right to said property shall go to my daughter or daughters remaining unmarried.

In the event of the marriage of all of my said daughters their portion of said property shall belong to my son.

I also will to my unmarried daughters two furnished rooms in the house which I now occupy or any house which may be erected in its stead, one of which rooms must contain a convenience for heating by stoves or otherwise, also the use of the Parlor & their maintenance while at home, any one or none of said daughters leaving home voluntarily shall not collect anything from their brother during their absence.

3 The remainder of my real Estate & personal property I leave to my son Isaac Edward McLeod.

McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of Daniel McLeod late of West River in the County of Pictou Farmer deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 3rd. day of November AD 1909.
