Pte. John Harold Little
John Harold Little was born in 1891 at Pictou, the son of Samuel Burridge Little and Charlotte Dobson Little. He grew up with six siblings - Rachael (MacLellan), James Dobson, Mary (Draper), Phoebe (Strickland) and George Henry.
John Harold Little worked for J A Stalker and Company before enlisting on 16 November 1915, in the 106th battalion. He was drafted into the R.C.R. After arriving in France he was redrafted to a salvage corps. While serving with this corps he received a serious wound in his back as well as shellshocked. He was taken to a hospital in England on 4 June 1917 and remained there for some time before being invalided home. Once in Canada, he remained in hospital for a long time, eventually recovering enough to return home to Pictou. As soon as he was able John Harold returned to work for J A Stalker and Company as a winchman.
John Harold died suddenly at work on June 1929. He was 38 years old.
