John McMaster, son of Sam and Margaret McDonald McMaster of Cape John, Pictou County, Nova Scotia married Annie Holmes, daughter of George and Janet Holmes of River John at River John on 19 June 1873.  John was a lumber man living at Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin at the time of their marriage.
