Mr. John MacKenzie
SCOTSBURN, November 17. — The death of Mr. John MacKenzie, a well known and highly esteemed man of Scotsburn, occurred at his home on Saturday morning, Nov. 6th. Mr. MacKenzie had not enjoyed the best of health for a number of years, but he bore his suffering with great patience. He was nursed through his illness by his daughter, Miss Isa, R.N. He leaves to mourn their loss: his wife; two daughters, Isa at home and Katherine of Boston, Mass.; three sons, George in the West, David and Robert at home; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Munro of Pictou; Mrs. Frank Flogg or Hubberston, Mass., and Mrs. Helen Groves of Alliston, Mass., and one brother, Dr. D. H. MacKenzie of Millbrook, New York.
The funeral was held from the family residence on Monday afternoon and was one of the largest ever witnessed in a country district, showing the esteem in which he was held in the community. The service was conducted by his pastor, Rev. H. MacAllister Griffiths. Much sympathy is extended to the sorrowing family.
