John Hemphill was born 14 December 1853 in Georgetown, PEI and died between 1920-1922 in Arisaig, Nova Scotia.
Johns father was James Hemphill born 1808 in Ballyrashane-Dunmull County, Antrim, Northern Ireland, died 1892 in Georgetown, PEI. James emigrated to Canada in the early 1830s and married Mary Anne Pentz and they had 12 children including John.
John married Ina McKeeman, daughter of Daniel McKeeman and Jessie Cork. Their son Milton George was born 1894, Georgetown, PEI and died 1958, Pictou, Nova Scotia. Milton had 12 siblings. Milton married Martha Gotell in 1918. Martha was the daughter of Henri Gotell and Sarah Batchilder Gotell. They had 11 children.
