OBITUARY
The community was shocked on Tuesday last by the announcement of the sudden death of Mrs. George Fogo. On the previous evening deceased was in her usual health, and spent the evening in company with a number of friends; returning home she was stricken with paralysis from which she never recovered. Deceased was a daughter of the late Robert Brown of West River, aged 58 years. The funeral took place on Thursday to old cemetery and was largely attended.

This morning Mr. John R. McDonald received the sad intelligence of the death of his mother, at the residence of Mrs. George McKay, Ferrona, a daughter of deceased. She had been ill for some time and her death was not unexpected, although the announcement came suddenly. Deceased was born in Sutherlandshire, Scotland in 1811, and came to this country in 1815. She was the widow of the late Charles McDonald, of Pictou. Mr. J. R. McDonald and Mrs. Harris, widow of the late Wm. Harris, printer, of Pictou, are children.

The remains of John Campbell whose death occured in Boston, on Aug. 27th, were taken to Pictou, last week and placed beside those of his parents. Deceased was a son of the late Alex. Campbell, of Cariboo, and will be remembered by many in Pictou. His death was due to consumption. He was in his 28th year. Mrs. Thompson, a sister of the deceased; and a brother, accompanied the remains from Boston.

The death occurred recently in Vancouver, B. C., of Mrs. Margaret Jane Anderson, widow of the late Capt. Anderson of Pictou. Deceased was residing at the time of her death with her son-in-law, Rev. Mr. Meikle, (who was for some years engaged in evangelistic work in these parts). Mrs. Anderson was a daughter of the late Wm. B. Henderson, of Pictou, and was a sister of Mr. Alfred Henderson. She was in her 59th year.
