I read you very welcome letter glad you are well I am very sorry to hear of the death of dear Grandma I wish I could have gone to the funeral if there ever was a consistent Christian woman she was one Dear Grandpa will be very lonesome they will be soon united where there will be no parting Remember me very kindly to him and all the Family I will write him soon Millie is at Emerson went two weeks after you left Sandy had a letter she is well Alex went to Duluth to [harvest] he got tired of the quarry I am working every day It is terrible hot some days quarry has a big strike yesterday and today may last for a week I will send your cousin to get news
I wish you were home we are lonesome since Sandy left when do you think you will be home the summer school will close Saturday Mr [Hay] is one of the teachers I will not write much more just now we are just getting ready for E-- write and let us know [particularly] about Grandmas death we are all well happy you are well and send our love to you
