Destructive Storm - Above are four scenes snapped by R. H. Sherwood showing some of the devastation about the town of Pictou caused by Hurricane Edna Top left is the roofless C. N. R. water tank on Battery Hill with the fragments of the roof on the lawn in the foreground; in the distance can be seen the new freightshed, which lost some of its roof covering. Right is St. James' Church of England as viewed from Denoon Street with what remains of its beautiful spire. Bottom left shows the huge tree which crashed into the verandah of the home of Dr. Fraser Young on Faulkland Street. Right is a view of the Customs House with the wreckage of the structure which replaced the former tower in the foreground.
