My Dear cousin Margaret

I received your letter Oct 8 and was glad to hear from you and that you are all in health as this leaves us at present Ann my sister is not very strong yet since she had the fever she is complaining some with the toothache  when I came here I found her very sick  she had a girl and which she took sick in a few days after I came she left and Mr Walker who boards with us he had the fever   since I came Mr Stuart the minister left us  we have no minister here now but they are building a new

church   the frame was not up when I came here   I suppose you have preaching often now since I left  your letter brought to my memory the time we used to be together and of your kind mother  I used to feel happy to [be with you all]  Father left me at his cousins and at eleven --- night  I took the rail and the next day we reached Antigonish  the marsh was very rough but the next night again we had an open wagon which was very comfortable so the next day I reached Cow Bay  It is a low place  we live in a house that Mr Mcdonald built for tenants  he built a new kitchen this summer and stable

I was to Sydney Mines with Aunt for three weeks  she was very kind  she was very --- with presents  her son William and family is living with her now   they made their shop larger and built a new kitchen  Sydney Mines is a nice place   so I think I will give you a good bye as I have no time just now --- but I would if --- had written you sooner   McDonald is a nice many so give me all the news in your next letter and tell me if you seen any of people  my love to you all
