Description
"TWICE-A-WEEK
____
Nearly two years ago we began to issue three copies of The Eastern Chronicle each week. Previous to that time the subscription proice was ONE DOLLAR per year. The intention then was to advance the subscription price to correspond with the increased issues, as it was evident that the price previously charged would not afterwards pay. Soon, however, it also became evident that three issues a week would only be temporary, and the advance in price was not made. We have now decided to drop one of the weekly issues, and the days of issue may be Tuesday and Friday. Circumstances compel us to drop one of the tri-weekly issues, and we feel that our subscribers would prefer to pay an increased price and have the three copies each week but owing to the expectation of issuing a daily Chronicle sometime in the future we regret we cannot comply with their wishes. After October 1st the Twice A Week issues will be resumed. Do not let any person suppose that the Eastern Chronicle will be less interesting on account of going back to the old arrangement, as the old editors will be doing business at the old stand with all their usual vigor. Taking it by and large, we confidently ask out patrons to stand by us as they have always done."
