Secretariat expected to be triple crown winner

Description

Article about the race horse Secretariat and a projection that he will be the first Triple Crown winner in twenty-five years, from the May 30, 1972 edition of the Pictou Advocate.

The article also mentions that Secretariat's final time for the Preakness Race was changed to the backup time, which would mean he didn't break a record. However, in 2012 it was finally decided that his time was 1:53, which was the record.

Colin Seaforth MacKenzie, of Rogers Hill, Pictou County, emigrated to Aberdeen, Grays Harbor County, Washington in 1899. This photograph of him (far right, with glasses) was taken circa 1900. He died as a deputy sheriff while tracking an outlaw in 1912.
