To Barnabas Arbuckles or any other Constable
Whereas complaint hath been made before me George McLeod Esquier one of His Majestys Justices assigned to keep the Peace in and for the District of Pictou upon the oath of Roderick M'Grae of Merigomish yeoman. That Donald M'Gillivray senior of Baileys Brook yeoman did on the night of Wednesday last the 26th Testant violently assult, cut, beat and abuse the said Roderick M'Grae in the House of the Said Roderick M'Grae and wife — in Merigomish in the District aforesaid — There and thereafore in His Majestys name to command you forthwith to apprehend the said Donald M'Gillivray and bring him before me or some other of His Majestys Justices of the peace in and for said District of find security for his personal appearance at the next General Session of the peace to be held in and for the District of Pictou - & be further dealt with as the law directs. Given at Merigomish under my hand and seal this 28th day of November AD 1834
