Description
Students sitting in their desks at the West End School, Pictou, around 1925. It was located on the corner of Willow and Church Street. There is a monument there now to commemorate it. It was originally the first Pictou Academy and remained so from 1816 to 1880. At that time a new larger Pictou Academy was built and this building became an elementary school with grades 1 to 8. The teacher standing in the back is Miss Jean Dickson of Pictou.
