Estate of A.M. Thompson late of Sunny Brae, Farmer, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
Know all men by these presents that I, Alexr. Thompson, of Sunny Brae, East River, Pictou Co. and Province of Nova Scotia, Farmer, do hereby make and publish this my last Will and Testament. And,
- I give and bequeath to my son John the one half of my farm lying an being situated at Sunny Bras, E.R. Pictou, and bounded by the land of the late Robert grant, and land of John McDonald, to take possession when he is twenty one years of age.
- I give and bequeath to my son William the other half of the aforesaid farm, to take possession when he is twenty one years of age.
- I ordain and order, that each of my sons John and William, within a year of taking possession of the above named farm, give to my daughter Lucinda, their sister, the sum of forty dollars each.
- I ordain and order that my beloved wife Josephine have full control and benefit of the farm, stock, i.e., until John be twenty one years of age, and also of the benefit and control of the farm which I now live, until the expiry of the lease.
- I also give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Josephine all my personal property, for her special use and benefit.
- I also ordain and order, that my sons John and William shall provide their mother a suitable maintenance, should she remain with them and unmarried.
- I also ordain and order, that my parents shall be maintained during their natural lives on the abovenamed farm, with such comforts as the place will afford.
I order and appoint that my son John shall have the half of the farm, on which the buildings are, the farm to be divided from the river to the rear.
I appoint and ordain Duncan, son of my Uncle Duncan McDonald Esqr. To be my Sole executor of this my last Will and testament.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of On and a half pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Alexander M. Thompson, late of Sunny Brae, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
