The annual meeting of the Pictou Fire Brigade was held Monday evening. The membership stands at 45. The election of officers resulted as follows: Chief of Brigade – G. Adam Pringle (re-elected); Assistant Chief- Adam Carson (re-elected); Secretary- John Tobin. The “Pictou” Company re-elected their officers; Captain- W.H. Noonan; Lieut. – D.C. Henderson. The “Empress” Company re-elected their officers: Captain- J.A. Stalker; Lieut.- W.D. McKenzie.

The winter steamers Earl Grey and Minto are making regular trips and are handling large quantities of freight. The Earl Grey is running to Charlottetown and the Minto to Georgetown.

The annual meeting of the Past Noble Grands Club of Princess Rebekah Lodge was held at the home of Mrs. Thomas Scott recently and the following officers elected for 1935: President Mrs. A. Rot Stewart; Vice President, Mrs. J.C. Profit; Secretary, Addie F. Robinson; Treasure, Mrs. J.W. Arthur.

Col. And Mrs. D.H. Sutherland and son Donald of River John arrived in Pictou last week to spend the rest of the winter with Col. Sutherlands’ brother, Dr. R.H. Sutherland. Donald’s a student at Pictou Academy.
