Dear Sister Anna A,
The last sad rites are over and our dear Maggie rests in her last home
until the resurrection morn We laid her to rest near my own Mother yesterday
afternoon and have done her last bidding How sad I am How very dreadful
it seems that I can not have her return with me when I look at my dear boy
Oh how my heart goes out in sadness as I realize Mama will never be with us
again Oh is it not a dream Is it possible that she is gone? But I must
say in sadness yes. Ah too true yes my sister Alice will go to Duluth with me
and will stay with me for the present There was quite a large funeral here and
also a large one at Duluth I counted 40 wagons and buggies here All the people
walked in Duluth
I will close for now
Yours in sadness
Roy
