Description
Left Southampton for Canterbury, arrived about 2:50 went out to see Canterbury cathedral. Oh it was a grand old place. Saw the blacks primus tomb also shirt _ and helmet, the place where Becket was murdered also oil painting of his murder it is a wonderful old place and worth seeing left next mommy, for Dover _ my channel half of the passengers were sick _ were not but felt none too comfortable. Landed at Galis? and took train through to Paris, drove to Hotel Binjon, I stayed there one day, not first class by any means. Came to hotel Campbell, have very nice suit of rooms, table _ good. Like Paris very much, nice wide streets and plenty shade trees. It is very warm, just as hot as America but cools off at night. English spoken almost everywhere as I live. Mrs. S? has taken passage from home July 10th on _ _ _ am glad as I am getting as thin my clothes hang on me like a sack on a broom. Sick but have felt very well all along, not even a headache since I left home.
