Estate of William Grant, late of Bridgeville, Farmer, deceased, Testate
Certified Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
This is the last Will and Testament of William Grant of Bridgeville, in the County of Pictou, Farmer.
1st. I will and bequeath to my four sons viz - Alexander, David, James, and Albert all of my real estate to be divided in shares as themselves and my executors shall agree upon.
2nd. I will and order that as part of the iron ore on my property shall be sold untill the sum of thirty thousand dollars will be paid for it, and when sold for the said sum or more the money shall be divided as follows that is to say each of my four sons abovenamed shall receive six thousand dollars, and each of my three daughters shall receive two thousand Dollars.
3rd. I will and order that all my lawful debts shall be paid by my four sons abovenamed each one of them to pay an equal share of said debt.
4th. I will and order that neither of my two sons Alexander and David shall occupy or have possession of the land herein bequeathed to them during the term of their mother's natural life.
5th. I will and bequeath to my wife Ellen the following quantities of provisions and money to be disbursed to her yearly and every year during her lifetime by my four sons abovenamed in the following manner that is to say each of the four of them to provide and deliver to her yearly one hundred pounds flour, Fifty pounds oatmeal, four bushels potatoes and four dollars in Cash. Also James and Albert shall provide for her four sheep and one Cow and feed and take Care of the said sheep and cow and keep them for my said wife's use every year during her lifetime.
6th. I will and bequeath to James and Albert my two sons all my personal property to be divided equally between tehm.
7th. I nominate and appoint Thomas McLean of Finner's Mountain as my Sole Executor to see this my last Will duly executed.
8th. I appoint my four sons as a committee to assist my executor in having this my last Will duly executed.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one & a half pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of William Grant, late of Bridgeville in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou, this 13th day of November A.D. 1886.
