Estate of William Grant, late of Coromonie, Farmer, deceased, Testate
Certified Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
Know all men by these Presents, that I, William Grant of Coromonie, East Pictou, in the County of Pictou, and Province of Nova Scotia, Farmer, being of sound disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and Testament.
1st. I give and bequeath to each of my daughters Margery, Jane Ann, Lizzie, and Jessie Bell, the sum of five dollars, said sum to be paid to each on the eighteenth anniversary of her birthday.
2. I give and bequeath to my son Donald Alexr. all my personal estate, consisting of Stock, farming implements, body clothing, i.e.

I give and bequeath to my son Donald Alexr. his heirs and assigns, all my homestead farm, situate in Coromonie, on Second division East side, East River in the County and Province aforesaid, whereon I now live, containing one hundred and fity acres more or less, to have and to hold the same to him, the said Donald Alexr. and his heirs and assigns for ever.
4. I appoint and devise that in consideration of, and as a condition of his receiving the above named personal and real estate, he shall make trhe following provision for my beloved wife Elizabeth, his mother, during her natural life, or while she remains my widow, namely, that she sahll have the use of one Cow, and Six sheep, to be kept by him, that he give her yealrly three Cwt. of Oatmeal, two Cwt of flour, twenty five bushels of potatoes, fuel & a reasonable amount of Sugar and tea, if she shall make choice of a portion or dowry rather than a comfortable living with himself of such as his circumstances will afford, with her life interest in the house in either case, and the privilege of being conveyed to church and market, when required. Also that he shall support his sisters until each arrive at the age of twenty years, if necessary.
6. I appoint and ordain William Fraser, Elder of the second concession of Bridgeville, Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament.
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and Seal, and declare this to be my my last Will and Testament in presence of the witnesses named below, This Seventh day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty five years.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one & a half pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of William Grant late of Coromonie, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou, this 30th day of June A.D. 1885.
