Estate of Roderick Grant, late of Carriboo, Farmer, deceased, Testate

Certified Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

This is the last Will and Testament of me Roderick Grant of Carriboo in the County of Pictou, Farmer.
 
After payments of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses I dispose of my Estate as follows -

I give devise and bequeath unto Libby Seaward wife of Captain William Seaward of Pictou, in the County of Pictou, all that lot of land and premises owned by me Situate on the East Side of Elliott Street in the Town of Pictou whereon the said Libby Seaward now resides. To Have and To Hold the same unto the said Libby Seaward absolutely for her Sole and Separate use free from and independent of the debts of her present or any future husband and without being Subject to his management or Control.

I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter the said Libby Seaward all my personal property and especially all monies which I have on deposit in any bank or banks whatsoever To Have and To Hold the same unto the said Libby Seaward absolutely for her own separate use and benefit from and independent of the control and management of her present or any future husband and without being subject to his debts or engagements.

I hereby give unto said daughter the said Libby Seaward the power to dispose by will as she may think fit of any or all of the foregoing real and personal property hereby bequeathed to her.

And I hereby nominate and appoint the said Libby Seaward Sole Executrix of this my  last Will and Testament  hereby revoking all former Wills and testaments by me at any time heretofore made.

In witness whereof I have hereto my hand and Seal set and affixed this third day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Eighty four.

Signed  Sealed and acknowledged by the said Testator Roderick Grant as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at his request in his presence, and in the presence of each other having  Subscribed our names as attending witnesses.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one & a half pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Roderick Grant late of Carriboo, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou, this 16th day of February A.D. 1887.
