Will of Roderick Grant, Deceased

Certified Copy for Reg of Deeds

The  last will and Testament of Roderick Grant of Carriboo River, in the County of Pictou, Farmer

 I give and bequeath all my real and personal property of every kind to my wife Jane Grant for her life or until she marries and at her death or marriage to my son Robert Atkinson Grant in per simple**

Provided that this foregoing devise is subject to the following changes upon the estate devised

First - That upon the marriage of my wife my said son shall within three months after her marriage, pay to her the sum of one hundred Dollars

Second - That each of my daughters Lilly Bell, Eliza, Barbara Ann, and Georgie shall upon marriage or upon leaving home permanently receive one of my ** twenty five dollars

And provided further that the said foregoing devise and the changes herein made in favor of my wife are to be accepted by her in lieu and satisfaction of her dower in the lands devised

I appoint her Guardian of said children.

I hereby nominate and appoint John Geddie Redpath of Carriboo River farmer and Alexander McKay of Town Gut foreman to be executors of this Will

I hereby revoke all wills by me at any time heretofore made.

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto Subscribed my hand this fifteenth day of August  A.D., 1900.

McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of Roderick Grant late of Carriboo River in said County Farmer deceased  which said will  was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 16th  day of June AD 1903.
