Will of Joseph H Grant, Deceased
Certified Copy for Reg of Deeds
I Joseph How Grant of Hopewell Pictou in the County of Pictou, Farmer, do make and publish this as my last will and Testament
I hereby appoint my son James Spurgon Grant and S.K. Muir of Eureka to be the executors of my Will
I hereby direct my said executors to pay all my just debts funeral expenses as soon as possible after my decease
I hereby bequeath to my wife Jane Grant a lot of land at Hopewell known as the Minnie A McKinnon lot absolutely.
I hereby devise my farm with house and premises at Hopewell to my wife Jane Grant during her widowhood and after her widowhood to my son James Spurgon Grant - one third to my daughter Ethel Victoria Grant one third and to my daughter Minnie A McKinnon wife of Angus McKinnon one third in equal shares absolutely
I devise and bequeath to my ** and daughter Ellens children Louise G Barton and Graham Barton fifty Dollars each to be paid out of my insurance money
I hereby bequeath to my wife Jane Grant all the rest and residue of my real and personal estate not hereinbefore mentioned absolutely
In Witness Whereof I have hereto set my hand this twenty first 21st day of September A.D., 1910.

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Joseph H Grant as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us both present at the same time who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses to the due execution hereof.

This is a Codicil to the last will and Testament of me Joseph H Grant of Hopewell which bears the day 21st day of September 1910
Whereas my said will I appointed my son James Spurgon Grant and S K Muir to be the Trustees and executors thereof I now appoint my wife Jane Grant to be the Guardian of my daughter Ida Jane Grant
In Witness Whereof I have hereto set my hand this 14th day of January A.D., 1911.

McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament and Codicil of Joseph Howe Grant late of Hopewell in the County of Pictou Farmer deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 31st day of January AD 1911.
Witness my hand at Pictou aforesaid this 31st day of January AD 1911.
