Estate of John A. Grant, late of Linacy, Farmer, deceased, Testate

Certified Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

In the name of God, Amen.

I, John A. Grant of Linacy in the County of Pictou, Province of Nova Scotia, being of sound mind and memory  Do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament on earth to wit

1st. - I will and bequeath to my wife Elizabeth Grant, the homestead of Sixty acres, on which I reside with the household effects and all within the house, during her life, the same to go to my son William McLean Grant at my wife's death.

2nd. - I will the homestead of Sixty five acres, bequeathed to my wife for her life in the preceding section to my son William McLean Grant, at his mother's death, subject to the following conditions to say that he will furnish a home with food and clothing during their lives if so required to my daughters Annie F. Grant and Grace Ross Grant or either of them.

3rd. - I will and bequeath to my son William McLean Grant, all the farming implements, Carts, and carriages, Horses, Sheep and Cattle on the farm, with the exception of two Cows, her choice, that I hereby bequeath to my wife Elizabeth Grant.

4th. - I will and bequeath and ordain and appoint my wife Elizabeth Grant and Hector McKay, Medical Doctor Executors of this my  last Will and Testament, to see the same duly performed.

Signed  Sealed  published and declared in the presence of us the undersigned witnesses who have signed our names  in the presence of the said Testator, who pronounces this to be  his last Will and Testament on earth this twenty fourth day of September, 1896.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of John A. Grant, late of Linacy, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou this 15th day of Septr. A.D. 1897.
