Estate of John Grant, late of W.B.E. River, Mason, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds Office
In the name of God, Amen, I, John Grant of the West Branch of the East River of Pictou, in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia, Mason, being of sound Body and of perfect mind, and memory, and knowing the uncertainty of this frail life Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament.
And as to touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this life, after all my just debts are paid and discharged, I give and bequeath unto Jessie grant - my beloved wife, and unto her heirs, all that certain Lot of Land- Situate on the said West Branch, East River now owned and occupied by me containing One Hundred and twelve acres, with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or appertaining as by reference unto the Deed conveying the said Lot Of Land will more fully appear. And furthermore I hereby order and give unto the said Jessie Grant my said wife, all and Singular my personal property consisting of Farm Stock of all kinds and number, together with all my farming implements, Household furniture, clothing and every other personal property which of Right belonged unto me, to be owned, possessed, and enjoyed by her for her own special benefit and behoof. Furthermore,
I hereby constitute make and ordain Roderick Fraser, of the March, Middle River to be my Executor of this my Last Will and Testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal affixed this twenty ninth day of September Anno Domini 1870.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page & part of a page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of John Grant late of West Branch, East River of Pictou, Mason, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou, this 3rd day of August A.D. 1880.
