Estate of John Grant, late of Little Harbor, Farmer, deceased, Testate
Certified Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
I, John Grant (white) of Little Harbour, County of Pictou, Province of Nova Scotia, make this my last Will and Testament.
1st. First. I order that my lawful debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my personal property.
2nd. Second. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Misey Grant all my personal property after my lawful debts are paid.
3rd. Third. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife all my real estate, whiles she lives, in trust for my two sons, Peter Grant, and Angus Grant, and at her death to be equally divided between them.
I also order that should either of my two Sons Peter or Angus be disposed to sell the real estate after my wife's decease, they shall give each other the first offer at a reasonable price.
I hereby nominate and Robert McNeill of Little Harbour and James Grant of River John as my Executors of this my last Will and Testament.
In witness whereof I, the said John Grant have to this my last Will and Testament Set my hand and Seal hereby revoking all former wills or Instruments.
This first day of July. One Thousand, Eight hundred and Seventy eight.

Signed sealed published and declared by the said John Grant as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us, who in his presence and at his request, have hereto in the presence of each other set our names as witnesses.

This Codicil is made by me John Grant (white) of Little Harbour this fifth day of June A.D. 1879.
That is to say-
I order that m y son John R. Grant, Have the use of the North Barn, and also the use of the one half of the House we now occupy fort a reasonable time, for him to erect a dwelling house on his own property.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of John Grant late of Little Harbour, in the County of Pictou, Framer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou, this 16th day of December A.D. 1879.
