Will of Jane Forbes, deceased

This is the last will and Testament of Jane Forbes Widow of the late Kenneth Forbes of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia.

I the said Jane Forbes direct my executors hereinafter named as soon after my death as convenient to sell and dispose of all my real estate and to convert the same and all personal property that I may be possessed of at the time of my death into cash, and having so done to dispose of my estate as follows

First To erect a joint tombstone to the memory of my late beloved husband Kenneth Forbes, my late mother Margaret Mc Connell and myself.

Second I give devise and bequeath the sum of Fifty dollars to Jane Perrigo daughter of my niece Margaret Perrigo

Third The residue of my estate after paying all my debts and funeral expenses and the expense of settling my estate and the above bequests I give devise and bequeath as follows, that is to say one third each to my nieces Margaret Perrigo, Annie Perrigo and Elizabeth McConnel (McKenzie) in each case for her sole and separate use and free from the control of their and each of their husbands if any I hereby empower my executors to sell all my real estate and personal effects at public auction or by private contract using his discretion as to the price to be obtained therefor and make and deliver good and sufficient deed or deeds thereof to the purchaser or purchasers of the same.

I appoint John H. Sinclair of New Glasgow N.S., Barrister at law as the sole executor of this my Will hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. In Witness Whereof I the said Jane Forbes have to this my last will and Testament contained in this and the preceding sheet of paper set my hand and Seal this ninth day of April A.D., 1902.

McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of Jane Forbes late of New Glasgow in the said County Widow deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 26th day of July AD 1904.
