Estate of Margaret Falconer, late of New Glasgow, Spinster, deceased, Testate

Certified Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

In the name of God, Amen.

I, Margaret Falconer of Eureka in the County of Pictou Spinster, do hereby declare this to be my last Will and Testament.

I hereby Authorize my executor hereinafter named to Sell and convert into money both the real and personal property of which I shall die seized and possessed with full power and Authority o convey by deed or deeds any real estate or interest in real estate to which I may be entitled at the time of my death to any purchaser or purchasers thereof without the aid of the Probate Court or any other Court and after so disposing of my said estate and converting the same into money to distribute the proceeds as hereinafter directed.

First. I direct my said executor as soon after my death as convenient to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses and the expenses connected with the settlement or management of my estate first out of the proceeds thereof.

Second. From the residue I hereby give devise and bequeath to Hugh Alexander Falconer son of Hugh Falconer of Spring Hill in the County of Cumberland five hundred dollars, to Princetta Mary Anna Murgatroyd of Providence Rhode Island married woman, the sum of one thousand dollars,

to the Board of Foreign Mission of the Presbyterian Church of Canada, five hundred dollars,

two hundred and fifty dollars of which is bequeathed in memory of, and to carry out the wishes of my late beloved niece May Bell McKenzie to John A. Cameron, Johnston Cameron, Finlay Maynard Cameron, and Mary J. Cameron all of Riverton in the County of Pictou, and George W. Cameron of said Spring Hill all sons and daughters of Finlay Cameron of said Riverton One hundred dollars each.

It being distinctly understood and provided that if my said estate on the same being realized and converted into money should turn out to be less than the gross amount of the above bequests then and in that event my estate shall be divided by my executor among the said above legatees in proportion to the said several amounts specified in the said bequests.

Third. The residue of my Estate if any after paying all the above bequests in full I do hereby direct my executor to invest in real Estate mortgages or other solid securities and pay the interest arising therefrom after deducting the expense of management to my sister Mary J. Hill half yearly for and during the term of her natural life, and at her death

I do hereby devise and bequeath the principal of said residue and all the residue of my estate of every kind to my said nephew Hugh Alexander Falconer of said Spring Hill and his heirs forever.

Fourth. I hereby appoint John W. Sinclair of New Glasgow, Barrister, the Sole Executor of this my last Will at the same time, revoking any former wills by me at any time heretofore made.

In witness whereof I the said Margaret Falconer the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament Subscribed my name and affixed my Seal this twenty eighth day of January A.D. 1893.

This is a Codicil to the last Will and Testament of Margaret Falconer of Eureka in the County of Pictou Spinster, bearing date 28th. January 1893.

I do hereby revoke the bequest of one thousand dollars to Princetta Mary Anna Murgatroyd, and I do bequeath the said one thousand dollars to Hugh Alexander Falconer son of Hugh Falconer, mentioned in the second paragraph of this my said Will, to and for his own absolute use and benefit forever.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 28th. day of February A.D. 1894.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of three pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament and Codicil thereto, of Margaret Falconer late of New Glasgow, Spinster, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
