Description Atlantic Provinces Folklore Survey

Transcription of story that occured between 1900-1920, as written by Harvey Henderson. Written in 1988, was told to him by John MacMillan of Toney River.

"There was a man in the area of Hodson of Pictou County by the name of John Morgan. He made the best of moonshine, sold good rum that was illegal during those times, and made poems about any event that occured.

Another man, John (Bubby) Murray, witty but not normal and Goodall Clark were the worst of enemies. Goodall was small of statue and large on temper.

A fight erupted between the two at the Pictou Exhibition and John Morgan immediately described it's beginning by saying

"And up stepped Bubby and put on a bold front

And said who scared of you, you damn little runt."
