Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds This is the last Will and Testament of me John George English of Pictou in the County of Pictou, and Province of Nova Scotia, Coal Dealer.

I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth English, all my real and personal estate of every nature and kind and wheresoever situate upon the terms and conditions following, that is to say-

1. May said wife shall out of the rents, profits, and interest arising from my said property, or out of the proceeds of the same or such part thereof as she may with the caveat of my Executors as hereinafter provided, Sell and dispose of, well and comfortably support my son Johnston English during his life, and, if he should die before her, give his body a decent and becoming burial.

2. My said wife shall have power at any time during the lifetime of the said Johnston English, to sell any part of my said property and convert the same into money with the consent in writing of my Executors, or the Survivor of them, if only one then living, or, if both be dead, of a Trustee to be appointed as in the following paragraph provided.

3. If my said son Johnston English shall survive my said wife, than all of my said property shall immediately upon her death be vested in my Executors hereinafter named, or the survivor of them if both are not then living, or if be then dead, in a Trustee to be appointed by my Children other than the said Johnston English, then living, or in the event of their being unable to agree in such appointment of any one if my said children, which said Executors, Executor or trustee shall hold said property during the lifetime of the said Johnston English in trust for his benefit, with power, if they the said Executors, Executor or trustee shall see fit, to sell all of said property and convert the same into money and invest the same for his benefit, and shall apply all of the rents, profits, and interest arising from said property or the proceeds thereof to the support and maintenance of the said Johnston English during his lifetime, and if said rents, profits, and interest shall be more than sufficient for his comfortable support and maintenance, then any balance remaining unexpended shall be invested as principal for his benefit, and applied after his death as hereinafter directed, and at his death the said property or the proceeds thereof, shall be by the said Executors, Executor or trustee thereof, divided share and share alike among my other children, the heirs at law

of any deceased child or children to take his, her, or their share or shares in equal parts. 4. If the said Johnston English shall die before my said wife, then immediately upon his death all my said property, or the proceeds thereof shall be held by my said wife absolutely to and for her own exclusive use and to be disposed of after her death, as she may see fit by will to direct. I hereby appoint, my said son in law Neil Fraser and my son John George English the executors of this my said last Will and Testament and I hereby revoke all and every will or wills by me at any time heretofore made.

In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed my Seal at Pictou this twenty seventh day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty eight.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of John George English late of Pictou, Coal Dealer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
