Estate of William Cumming late of Piedmont Valley, Manufacturer, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
Know all men by these presents. I William Cumming of Piedmont Valley, in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia, Furniture Manufacturer, being of sound and disposing mind, do make, publish and declare this my last Will and testament as follows,
First. I give, bequeath, and devise, to my son James Duncan Cumming all my real Estate and property situated south of the Piedmont Valley road, to become his absolutely on his attaining the age of twenty one years, meantime I direct that he shall continue to live and work with his mother, sisters, and brother as heretofore.
Second. I give bequeath and devise to my wife Catherine A. Cumming all the residue of my real estate and homestead for her use and benefit and a home for my children, during the term of her natural life, afterwards to become the property of my youngest son Edward Blake Cumming.
Third. I give and bequeath all my personal property and effects including Cash in banks and otherwise invested as follows, 1st. To my son James Duncan Cumming three hundred and fifty dollars, 2nd. To my Daughter Isabella Cumming two hundred and fifty dollars, 3rd. To my Daughter Louisa Cumming two hundred dollars, 4th. To my Daughter Annie M. Smith two hundred dollars, 5th. To my Daughter Maggie J. Cumming one hundred dollars, 6th. To my Son Edward Blake Cumming one hundred dollars, 7th. All the rest and residue to my wife Catherine A. Cumming. The above legacies to those who are minors to be invested for their benefit until they attain their majority if not sooner needed for their maintenance.
Fourth - I hereby appoint friend James A. MacDonald of Piedmont Valley Executor and my wife Catherine A. Cumming executrix of this my last Will and Testament.
Given under my hand and Seal this fifteenth day of August A.D. 1893.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of William Cumming late of Piedmont Valley in the County of Pictou, Manufacturer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
