Estate of Christiana Craig, late of Pictou, Spinster, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

This is the last Will and Testament of me Christiana Craig of Pictou in the County of Pictou, and Province of Nova Scotia, Spinster.

I appoint George Doull of Pictou in the County and Province aforesaid Merchant, and John U. Ross of the same place Barrister at Law, to be the executors and trustees of this my Will.

I give devise and bequeath all my property and estate of whatsoever nature and kind to Jane Baynes wife of O'Hara Baynes of Montreal Notary, to have for her Sole and separate use free from the debts and control of her said husband, if she be living at the time of my death.

And should the said Jane Baynes die before me I give, devise and bequeath all my property and Estate of whatsoever nature and kind unto my said executors and trustees in trust to convert the same into money by sale or otherwise and invest the proceeds on mortgages, bank stock, or other good security with power to vary such investments at their discretion And to stand possessed of the said trust monies and the investments for the time being respecting the same in trust for all the children of the said Jane Baynes who being sons shall attain the age of twenty one years, or being daughters shall attain that age f marriage under that age to be divided between them in equal shares, and if there be only one such child the whole to be in trust for that one child. Provided always and

I declare that during the minority of such Children or any of them who if of the age of twenty one years would be entitled to a share of such funds under the foregoing trusts my trustees may apply the whole or any part of the income of the expectant share of such minor for or towards his or her maintenance and education with liberty to pay the same to the present guardian or guardians of such minor for the purposes aforesaid without being liable to see to the application thereof, and shall accumulate the residue (if any) of said income by investing the same and the resulting income thereof to the intent that such accumulation shall be added to the principal share from which the same shall have proceeded and follow the destitution thereof, but my trustees may at any time resort to the accumulations of any preceeding year or years and apply the same for or towards the maintenance i.e. and education of any person for the time being presumptively entitled thereto.

And I also declare that in lending money on any mortgage Security, my trustees may accept whatever, title or evidence of title may seem to them to be sufficient.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Christiana Craig late of Pictou, Spinster, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
