Estate of Jeremiah Connell, late of New Glasgow, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

Know all men by these presents that I Jeremiah Connell of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou Province of Nova Scotia, Plasterer, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and publish this my last Will and testament, as follows, viz,

First. I will and bequeath all my real Estate consisting of the Lot of Land on which I now reside, together with all the buildings thereon and all the appurtenances thereto belonging to my wife Hannah Connell during her natural life. If my son James Connell supports his mother, in my house, which I now will and bequeath to her, during her natural life in a respectable and comfortable manner in every respect as a son ought to support his mother, having due regard to his circumstances and ability to her reasonable satisfaction and to the approval of my executors herein after named, then at her decease, I will and bequeath the above mentioned property to him. But in the event of my son James not fulfilling the above mentioned obligations in supporting his mother to her reasonable satisfaction and to the approval of my Executors hereinafter named, then in that case I hereby empower and authorize my executors to utilize my above mentioned property during my wife's lifetime for her support in whatever manner they may judge best and at her decease to sell the property or whatever portion of it may remain after the comfortable support of my wife, and the proceeds to be equally divided among my children who may then be living-

Second- It is also my wish that during my wife's lifetime she shall occupy and have the Sole use and control of the two rooms in the South end of the house which I now occupy and not to be interfered with in their occupation in any respect, also to have free access to any and all of the outbuildings on the property, my son James to be allowed to occupy the remainder of the building.

Third - I will and bequeath to my wife Hannah Connell all my personal property of every kind and description for her Sole use and benefit and to be disposed of as she pleases.

Lastly - I hereby appoint James D. McGregor, Merchant , and George Murray Medical Doctor both of New Glasgow Executors of this my said last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this sixteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eight two.

In the Court of Probate 1885

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one and a half pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Jeremiah Connell late of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou, Plasterer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
