Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

The last Will and Testament of Alexander Campbell of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou, Shoemaker.

Know all men by these Presents that I Alexander Campbell of the Town of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou, Shoemaker being by the blessing of God of sound disposing mind and memory and taking into consideration the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following.

First. I commit my Soul to God hoping for the remission of all my sins through the merits and mediation of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and my body to be decently buried by my Executor herein after named and my worldly property I dispose of as follows -

Second. I give and devise to my beloved sister Isabella Campbell all my rights and interest in the House and lot of Land Situate on Washington Street in the town of New Glasgow in which I now reside to her and her heirs forever.

Thirdly. I give and devise to my said Sister Isabella Campbell as aforesaid the House and lot of Land owned by me at Trenton in the County of Pictou aforesaid, bounded on the north by lands of one Colquhoun, on the west by the old Fisher Grant Road, and on the South and East by lands now or formerly owned by one Duncan Ross - said Lot containing three quarters of an acre more or less, with all the privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to her and her heirs forever. Fourthly. I give and devise to my Sister Isabella Campbell aforesaid all my personal Goods, and effects of every kind and description whatever to be disposed of as she may see fit.

Lastly. I nominate and appoint Alexander McArthur of Trenton, Farmer, Executor of this my said last Will and Testament, and thus revoke and cancel all other wills by me made and proclaim this as and for my Last Will and Testament.

In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this first day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and Eighty six. (1886)

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one and a half pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Alexander Campbell late of New Glasgow, in the County of Pictou, Shoemaker, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
