Estate of Alex F. Campbell, late of Pictou Island, Farmer, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

This last Will and Testament of Alex F. Campbell of Pictou Island in the County of Pictou Farmer, made this twenty seventh day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety five.

I Alex F. Campbell being in the meantime in feeble health, but of sound mind and memory, do make, publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in the form ad manner following, that is to say,

I give and bequeath unto my wife Ann Campbell all my real estate, consisting of One hundred acres of land for her Sole use, during her natural life, together with all my personal property and Household furniture, and effects of which sell at any time, to maintain herself, except what i shall hereafter give unto mu daughter Annie F. Campbell, out of the proceeds of Sale of so much of the personal property as shall amount to $100. One hundred dollars, to be paid to Annie F. Campbell should she survive us, but if not to be put in the Book for y grandson Alex Campbell McCallum with interest accruing till he comes of age.

Should Charles McIver neglect working the land for her support and maintenance, But if he does support her decently and comfortably as he is bound by bond to do, then he is to have the use of, not abuse of the land as long as she lives.

And to the said Alex Campbell McCallum I bequeath all my Real Estate, at the death of my wife Ann Campbell also all my legal debts, and all outstanding debts owing me together with my library, mechanic tools, farming implements & all stock, or whatever loose personal property may be remaining after every thing is settled, together with all Household furniture, which may be there, and also my funeral expenses.

I hereby constitute and appoint Duncan MacDonald and William McLure as my Executor, and Ann Campbell, my wife executrix of this my said last Will and Testament, and request that said executors see that all this will is complied with, to the letter.

Hereby revoking all other and former wills by me made.

In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand and Seal subscribed and set at Pictou Island, this twenty seventh day of February A.D. one thousand eight hundred and ninety five.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one and a half pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Alex F. Campbell Late of Pictou Island in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
