Four of seven daughters of William and Euphemia Bickers of Caribou River.  William Bickers was born in England in 1842 and emigrated to Canada in 1862.  William married Euphemia McLeod of Halifax on 21 December 1863.  They had nine children: Sarah Isabella born 1866, George Alexander born 1868, Hughena Catherine (Cassie) born 1870, William Albert born 1872, Mary May born 1874, Ellen Maud born 1875, Hilda Florence born 1877, Lexerena born 1879, and Mary Matilda (Maggie) born 1883.
