Emigrating from England, Professor Thomas Singleton lived in Pictou with his wife Marion and daughters Lorna and Catherine until 1917 when they returned to Port Hope, Ontario where they had previously lived.
Professor Singleton taught voice, piano, organ and harmony at his Pictou School of Music on what was then called Haliburton Street in Pictou.
Thomas Singleton was born January, 1853. His wife Marion was born May, 1869 and their daughters Lorna, July, 1895 and Catherine December, 1908 as per the 1911 Pictou County Census.
