*Note: Marguerite MacKay Sutherlands uncle, John D MacKay died 17 July, 1952 in Drywood, Missouri where he had been living the past seven years. His obituary from the Pictou Advocate, 31 July, 1952 reads:
John D. MacKay passed away in St. Joseph's Hospital, Drywood, Wis., on Thursday morning, July 17, following an illness of several years. He was 87 years of age, being born at Dalhousie Mountain, Pictou County, on Oct. 7, 1864. Mr. MacKay went to Chippewa Falls, Wis., in 1880, and worked for many years in logging camps. In 1897 he married Elizabeth Kleinsmith, who passed away 50 years ago.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Alice Goodsell, of Beloit, Wis., and three grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Alice Adcock, of New York; two brothers, Dan in Buckfield, Maine and Calvin MacKay of Pictou.
For the past seven years he had been residing in Drywood. Funeral service was held at Drywood Methodist Church at two o'clock Sunday afternoon, July 20. Interment was at the Pine Grove Cemetery.
