Dear Maggy
I received your letter last Monday which I was very happy to learn by it that you are all --- this leaves me thanks to God I am quite well now the weather is nice & cold I am very happy to tell you that I am to be at Margaret Reid Wedding tomorrow Monday 2 of Sept She is to be married at ten oclock am & they are to leave by twelve oclock train for how she will post this letter in Pictou
herself & her husband will call to see you some time soon. I need not tell you to make them welcome because I know you will Margaret Reid was the best friend I ever had I never seen no change in her she never forgot coming to see me I wish her good luck & prosperity she will bring me my plaid to I'll get it cleaned & what will fit pair or two of stockings I don't want anything more for I am allowing to go to see you next summer if I am spared & what you will have of hair— I had a letter from Johns wife last week they are all well they had very wet summer the potatos
is fairly gone I want to know if you wrote Christina McKay yet I did not but I will soon I am sorry that I send that trifling thing with Jessie and when you did not get it if you go to church you may go to see Mrs Ross she may have it there Dear Maggy I may tell you that I am getting lonesome now I am longing to hear somebody that I can talk to I must be on guard here for every word I say it is hard to live with the Irish Catholic I would like to know what is the matter with Angus that he don't write none I wrote him twice got no reply --- say he got so big of himself
that he don't think it worth while to write me I no that I am poor & far from my home but I have God he made friends for me every place I went to yet. Give my compliments to Donald Gunn & tell him that I was very pleased that they accept of my likeness so well remember me to Mrs McLeod & Matilda & tell her that she will catch it when I go home for Robert tell Bella to write me a long letter with all the news she can My Love to your Father mother & all of you Dolina St
