Estate of Peter Calder, late of Westville, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
This is the last Will and Testament of me Peter Calder late of Westville in the County of Pictou, Farmer.
1. I devise and bequeath to my son Anthony Calder a two acre lot of land in Westville and described as follows, On the northerly side by Office Street. Easterly by William Coorkum's lands. Southerly by Daniel Stewarts lands. Westerly by the old road or Spring Garden road, he to come into possession of the same only at the death or marriage of my wife Catherine Calder.
All the rest and residue of my Estate both real and personal I devise and bequeath to my said wife Catherine Calder as well as the above mentioned lot subject to the aforesaid conditions for the support and maintenance of my helpless son Alexander Calder and likewise for her own support and maintenance. I hereby order that the same (excepting the two acre lot) to be sold for the support of my said wife, and Child, if it is absolutely necessary to do so, at the same time it is my desire that they would continue in the house, and on the premises where they now reside. Should there happen to be any of the Estate herein devised after the death of my wife, and helpless son, then I hereby devise and bequeath the same to Anthony Calder aforesaid.
I hereby appoint my friend John McLean of Westville Blacksmith, and Charles Blackie of Greenhill Farmer, both of Pictou County, executors of this my said last Will.
In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand subscribed this four day of August A.D. 1897.
