Estate of William Dunbar late of Elgin, Farmer, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
Elgin January 14th 1889
I William Dunbar of Elgin in the County of Pictou, being of sound mind and fully conscious of what I am about to do, Hereby will and bequeath all my real and personal estate and property as follows -
First. I will and bequeath to my wife Jane Dunbar one third of all my real and personal Estate for her maintenance during her natural life, at her death what remains of this one third of my real and personal estate shall be divided equally between my daughters Jessie Ann Dunbar, Margaret Fraser, Elizabeth Mary McLean, Bella Jane McMillan, and Catherine Lidia Robertson Share and Share alike.
Second I will and bequeath two thirds of all my real and personal estate wherever it is found to my daughters Jessie Ann Dunbar wife of Archibald Dunbar, Margaret Fraser wife of William Fraser, Elizabeth Mary McLean wife of John D. McLean, Bella Jane McMillan wife of Duncan McMillan and Catherine Lidia Robertson wife of John J. Robertson to be divided between and among them equally Share and Share alike, to them and their heirs, Executors, and assigns to have and to hold forever.
Third. I hereby authorize my executors to sell my real estate and personal estate to the best advantage and at such time as they may deem it expedient investing one third set apart for my beloved wife Jane Dunbar's maintenance in the best and safest manner, in accordance with their judgement. Fourth.
I appoint John David Dunbar and Alexander McLean/John's son/ to be my Executors of this my said last Will and Testament.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page and part of a page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of William Dunbar late of Elgin in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
