Description Alexander McKenzie, James Patriquin, River John 1835

To Peter Crerar Esquire Deputy Registrar for the County of Pictou

Whereas James Patriquin of River John in the County of Pictou and Jannet his wife for the security of the sum of one Hundred and ten pounds of lawful money of Nova Scotia, and all interest that might accure thereon, due from the said James Patriquin to Alexander McKenzie of the place aforesaid Esquire, did by a certain Indenture of mortgage bearing date the sixth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty four, mortgage to the said Alexander McKenzie a certain piece or parcel of Land situate in the Settlement of River John on which said James Patriquin now resides, beginning at a stake and stones on the Southern side of John F. Langilles lot said stake and stones being nineteen chains from the seashore, thence south forty five degrees East five chains, thence North forty five degrees East, nineteen chains to the said shore thence by the different courses of the shore to the northern side line of John D. Langille's lot, thence South forty five degrees West along last mentioned line to the rear of said lot, thence North forty five degrees West ten chains to said John F. Langilles line thence North forty five degrees West along said J. F. Langilles to the place of beginning, with the appurtenances, which said Indenture of mortgage was duly registered on the fifth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five in Liber Seventeen folio 461 as appears by the certificate of Registry thereon and whereas the said James Patriquin hath paid and satisfied the said mortgage money to the said Alexander McKenzie agreeably to the proviso and condition therein contained.  Now therefore the said Alexander McKenzie in consideration of the premises doth hereby release and discharge the said mortgage and the Lands and premises therein described, to the said James Patriquin his heirs and assigns for ever.  And the said Alexander McKenzie doth hereby certify thae same to you the said Peter Crerar to whom these presents are directed and and doth request you to cause the certificate to be registered in conformity with the Laws of this Province in such case made and provided
