This Indenture made this tenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty two Between John W. Louden of the city of New York in the United States of America but at present of Pictou in the County of Pictou Merchant and Helena his wife of the one part. And John Yorston James Crichton and George Campbell all of Pictou aforesaid Trustees of Public Property for said County of Pictou duly appointed by the Government of the Province of Nova Scotia of the other part Witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of Forty Pounds lawful money of the Province of Nova Scotia to the said John W. Louden in hand well and truly paid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged they the said John W. Lowden and Helena his wife Have and each of them Hath granted bargained sold aliened remised released enfeoffed and confirmend and by these presents Do and each of them Doth grant bargain sell alien remise release enfeoff and confirm unto the said John Yorston James Crichton and George Campbell Trustees as aforesaid and their successors in office for the time being the following lot of land situate in the Town of Pictou and bounded as follows viz. Northerly by Front Street and measuring thereon one hundred and twelve feet easterly by the west side line of a lot belonging to the Heirs of the late Hector McLean, Southerly by the waters of the Harbor of Pictou at High water mark and westerly by the public landing or slip with all the improvements privileges and
appurtenances, thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and also all the estate right title property interest claim and demand of them the said John W. Louden and Helena his wife or other of them in right of Dower or otherwise howsoever of in to or upon the same. To Have and To Hold the same to them the said John Yorston James Crichton and George Campbell as trustees as aforesaid in trust for the benefit and use of the public and not to themselves personally their heirs or assings or to their own private or individual use benefit or behoof.
And the said John W. Louden for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth hereby covenant promise and agree to and with the said John Yorston James Crichton and George Campbell trustees as aforesaid and their successors in office for the time being that he hath good right full power and lawful authority to sell and convey the lot of land above described with its appurtenances in manner and form as the same is above old and conveyed, and that he the said John W. Louden and his heirs the same unto them the said John Yorston James Crichton and George Campbell trustees as aforesaid and their successors in office shall and will warrant maintain and forever defend.
In Witness whereof the said parties have hereto their hands and seals subscribed and set the day and year first above mentioned

On this tenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty two before me the subscriber one of Her Majestys Justices of the peace for the County of Pictou personally came and appeared Helena Louden a party to the foregoing deed and wife of John W. Louden also a party thereto who being by me examined separate and apart from her said husband acknowledged that she of her own free will and accord and without any force or compulsion from her said husband signed and executed the said Deed for the purposes therein contained and set forth.
